Overview

How do you build a luxury flagship to global brand standards when the design team cannot get into the country? That was the brief for the first Alexander McQueen store in New Zealand. Complete Construction delivered the flagship for Kering Group at Westfield Newmarket in Auckland, built to the specification of Slinc Design in Hong Kong.

Key challenges

• COVID site restrictions through the build.
• A design and brand team based offshore who could not visit site.
• Shipping delays on international joinery that squeezed the programme.

How we solved it

We ran the job on Procore with daily photo updates and real time reporting, so the offshore team could sign off progress from Hong Kong. On site we resequenced works and coordinated subcontractors around the late joinery to protect the handover date.

Outcome
