AUT Library.
Wellesley Street, Auckland
- 8 weeks
- Full fitout over summer break
- Live campus
- Delivered around students
Overview
How do you refit a university library floor without shutting it during term? You do it over the summer break. Complete Construction delivered a full fitout of Level 3 in AUT’s City Campus library on Wellesley Street in Auckland. The upgraded floor has new finishes, lighting, furniture and joinery, giving students a modern space to study and work together.
Key challenges
- Delivering a full fitout inside a live university.
- Meeting a tight eight week programme over the summer break.
- Coordinating fixed and loose furniture delivery.
How we solved it
We worked closely with Arch Media and AUT to sequence the works and keep disruption down. Making the joinery and furniture in house sped up delivery and kept the finish consistent across the floor.
Outcome
The new study zone opened on time and to a high standard. AUT Library is a full campus fitout delivered over the summer break without stopping the students.
