Eden Park 2.0 West Stand.

Overview

Rebuilding part of a national stadium between fixed international fixtures leaves no room to run late. Complete Construction delivered the West Stand redevelopment at Eden Park in Mt Eden, Auckland, as part of the Eden Park 2.0 campaign. We converted the lower seating into an open, event ready concourse with new foundations, asphalt surfacing and upgraded drainage, and fully revamped the members’ lounge and bathrooms.

Key challenges

• Delivering demolition and civil works under intense time pressure.
• Building in the gaps between international events with fixed dates.
• Handing over with no room for programme overrun.

How we solved it

We staged the works around Eden Park’s event calendar in close coordination with the stakeholders. The external works ran in parallel with the members’ lounge and bathroom refurbishment, which held both the programme and the quality.

Outcome

The upgraded West Stand was delivered on programme and now supports events and concerts, setting the base for Eden Park 2.0. A clean handover meant bookings ran uninterrupted. Delivering civil works and refurbishment on immovable event deadlines is core Complete Construction work.
