Overview

Renovating a well loved Ponsonby restaurant is as much about protecting its character as improving the room. Complete Construction delivered the full interior revamp of Farina on Ponsonby Road in Auckland, a local institution with a loyal following. Working with Izzard Design, we ran a fast track fitout with a curved bar, warm timber detailing and layered textures.

• Improving the interior without losing the restaurant’s character.

• Getting precise detail across prefabricated, design led elements.

How we solved it

We worked with Izzard Design and the Farina team to balance programme against finish. Prefabricating the bar and timber elements kept them accurate, and tight sequencing let us install with little disruption to the venue.

Outcome

Farina reopened on time with a sharper, design led interior that keeps its neighbourhood character, and won the RED Award for Food & Beverage Hospitality. Farina adds a live, trading restaurant fitout to Complete Construction’s hospitality portfolio.
