Overview

Demolishing an old food court and building a new one, in the middle of a gaming floor that never closes, is a sequencing job first. Complete Construction delivered Food Republic, the flagship dining venue on SkyCity’s main gaming floor on Federal Street in Auckland. Working with Moller Architects, we demolished the old food court and built a larger space with an expanded kitchen, guest seating and an international food offering.

How we solved it

We staged the demolition and rebuild to keep disruption down. Coordination with Moller Architects and SkyCity kept the trades sequenced, and prefabrication supported both the programme and the finish.

Outcome

Completed in 2020, Food Republic anchors SkyCity’s dining offer with a light, open space and more seating, and it went in without stopping operations. It shows how Complete Construction delivers hospitality builds inside live 24 hour venues.
