Overview

A beachfront venue has to look sharp and still shrug off salt air and heavy traffic. Complete Construction delivered the full fitout of Takapuna Surf Club on Hurstmere Road, overlooking Auckland’s North Shore beachfront. Our scope covered structural coordination, bar and servery fabrication, bespoke joinery and hard wearing finishes across the indoor and terrace zones.

Key challenges

• Fitting out above a live commercial building with restricted access.
• Choosing materials that take coastal exposure and high traffic.
• Getting a sharp finish in a highly visible beachfront spot.

How we solved it

We coordinated early with the consultants to manage the structural and services constraints. In house prefabrication of the bar, joinery and servery kept it accurate, and careful sequencing and material choice held the quality and durability.

Outcome

Takapuna Surf Club opened to programme as a coastal venue that pairs durability with hospitality detail. Takapuna Surf Club is a beachfront fitout built to take salt air exposure.
