Overview

How do you get oversized timber and steel into an airside terminal? Sometimes you take out a façade window and lift it in off the tarmac. Complete Construction delivered the Wondertree fitout for Emirates Leisure Retail, airside at Auckland International Airport. The venue pairs bold finishes and natural textures with a family friendly layout.

Key challenges

• Building in a live, secure terminal with restricted access.
• Lifting oversized timber and steel off the tarmac after removing a façade window.
• Adapting The Greater Group’s offshore design to local compliance.

How we solved it

We coordinated a specialised lift from the tarmac, including removing and reinstating the window. Early detailing and prefabrication kept delivery fast and compliant, and night works kept disruption off the live terminal.

Outcome

Wondertree was delivered on time and to spec as a bold, globally branded venue. Wondertree is an airside fitout delivered in a complex, secure terminal.
